POCKET Quetta

Through the kindness of a member of the SEED (internal organization of the Protestant mission in Strasbourg), the association received a bag begging. It is an object to collect the sacristan offerings of the faithful attending the worship.

dishes are known to beg and beg for scholarships. The "pocket" to beg, and we call for lack of definitive denomination, is in the form of a metal ring attached to a wooden handle. On the circle is fixed a fabric pocket. One known case of pouch whose end is equipped with a bell.

Leon Elchinger, ceramist

Station at Our Lady of Lourdes, Nancy, by Leon Elchinger (1938).

The Way of the Cross ceramic Mont-Sainte-Odile is bad state. The authorities are considering the restoration of the pilgrimage. As a documentary point out an article in The Nation Lorraine , Number 4 - December 2008, written by Alain-Julien Surdel.

This article highlights two paths cross, made by Leo Elchinger, the Mont Sainte-Odile (1935) and that of the Basilica of Our Lady of Lourdes in Nancy (1938). The author expands on the presentation of other works of ceramicist Alsatian monuments to the dead.

Comparing the two cross paths allows Mr. Surdel highlight the devotion given to the faithful in two very different sites, with, background, layout differentiated because of site-specific public.

For the record, remember that Leo-Arthur Elchinger, the artist's son and bishop of Strasbourg, stated that his father had taken the features of his wife and son for the representation of Mary and John at the foot of the cross.
